About The Artist

As an only child, my vivid imagination gave way to a successful career in advertising and later, feature writing. Eventually, the written word segued into a parallel career universe as a printing company owner. I secretly harbored a fascination with the textures and colors of paper, sneaking furtive glances at the graphic artists who created designs with glue, rubber cement and a T-square…you DO know there was life and commerce before computers, right?

Fast forward to "menopaws" (I’ll mention my family shortly) and the realization that if I didn’t try, I’d never know. So, I retired my writing habit and embraced the pleasure of getting my hands inky, chalky, painted and sticky. Away went my designer suits and obscenely expensive handbags, as I welcomed T-shirts and cheap jeans. Which brings me to my inspirations and the family I adore.

My husband Bill and I are the proud parents of three ex-racing Greyhounds and a Boston Terrier. All of our ‘kids’ are seniors, and our brindle Greyhound, Nate, is a registered Therapy Dog.

Nate and I happily volunteer at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, as well as appearing at myriad events in NV, CA, AZ and UT. Truth be told, Nate does all the heavy lifting, while I simply handle his arrangements and drive us where we’re needed. Our volunteerism is so important that a portion of the proceeds from anything you purchase from McCann’d Made Designs, will be donated to our Hospice or our local Greyhound Pets of America chapter.
